In black

My mood hasn't been that great over the last few weeks, understandable as you can imagine.  So to match my mood I knitted in black, not my favourite colour to knit especially in night light.  However, I am pretty pleased with how this shawl turned out.

The pattern is Reyna, and the only change I made was to do a picot cast-off as the pattern cast-off is very plain.

The yarn I used was some I bought at the show in March.  An aran weight thick/thin yarn

Tickets have been purchased for the October show and I need to check stash, see what I "need", who am I kidding, I'll end up buying whatever takes my fancy!  So watch this space to see what I buy

At least we have our memories

The man has gone but our memories remain

Our dear father passed away peacefully yesterday, no longer with us but no longer in pain

After a seven year war with the Big C, he lost the final battle but never his sense of humour

a husband of 61 years

a father to three

a grandfather to six

and a great grandfather to four

Rest in peace Dad until we meet again xxx

Its been a while

I've not been around for a while but I have been busy knitting.  In fact I have 3 finished projects to show you.

The first is hot off the needles.  I was given a photo of a Boden jacket and asked if I could knit something similar.  As I am always up for a challenge I was happy to oblige.  Here is my take on the Fox Jacket. I promise photos of Miss J wearing it, hopefully tomorrow.

For details of how I made it and the patterns used my Ravelry project page is here.

Next is a cowl for me - details here

Finally another cardigan for Miss J

and here she is wearing it - again pattern details here

Life is a bit hectic right now trying to fit in trips up to Norfolk to visit my father who is very poorly in hospital, tackle the autumn clear up in the garden, work, grandchildren, just life in general, so bear with for now. Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog, its much appreciated

August in photos - a snapshot of our holiday

Here we are in September, the nights have started to draw in and I am feeling very sad that the summer is coming to an end. Hopefully the weather will pick up, it usually does once the children go back to school.

This is just a snapshot of our holiday in France.  I will tell you more about it another time, life is getting in the way at the moment and blogging is going to take a back seat for a bit.
